Northwest held off a hard-charging Northeastern State team Saturday afternoon on the way to a 76-65 MIAA win.
The Bearcats finished with four players scoring in double-figures led by 20 points from Trevor Hudgins and 17 points from Ryan Welty, including a perfect 9-9 at the free throw line.
Northwest led by 15 in the first half, but Northeastern State pushed back and cut the deficit to just four points with 13:15 remaining in the game. The Bearcats responded with a 14-2 run and held the Riverhawks at bay for the rest of the game.
